Located within Al Shindagha Museum, in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Suruq Al-Hadid Museum offers the perfect reason to spend a day in old Dubai. Translating to “The Way of Iron”, the venue showcases ancient eras of metalworking in the region – with artefacts preserved in mint condition.

The pieces on display here were discovered in 2002 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum while flying his helicopter above an archaeological site in Rub Al-Khali desert (also known as 'The Empty Quarter'). Ever since, archaeologists and historians have been unearthing thousands of iron tools, stoneware, bronze pots, precious beads, gold jewellery and fossils – now on display at the museum.
